An openair museum and wonderful nature
heerlijke natuur

Nice little towns and villages
In Romania the thru roads all run from church to church. In front of the church the road curves left or right, around the church and goes on to the next church.
The bigger thru roads suffer from a lot of heavy traffic and are not very well maintained and rough. The smaller thru roads are often much better.

Sighisoara
The birthplace of sir Vlad Tepes (1431), who served as an example for the stories about Count Dracula. In fact sir Vlad was a member of the resistance group fighting against the occupation of the Ottoman empire. The name Dracula means 'dragon' or 'devil' in the old Romanian language.

Brasov

Brasov was once called Kronstadt and has a beautiful old centre. Brasov is mostly known because of it's beautiful black gotic church, which had black walls after a fire burned it down in 1689.

Sibiu
Sibiu is situated in the heart of Transsylvanië. This lovely amall town is often compared with Siena in Italy. In 2007 Sibiu was one of the cucltural Capitals of Europe. The whole centre has been restored and the big square is more beautiful then ever.
