They are going like crazy
Ever tried to cover 60km within 18 minutes? At an empty motorway it shouldbe possible if you and your bike are capable to travel little over 200km/h.
The racetrack on the Isle of Man is everything but a motorway. The road is rather narrow and lined with trees, walls, gates, bus shelters, poles, houses, while lines etc... And hay bailes.
New lap records
In 2002 David Jefferies did a lap at an average speed of 204,81 km/h during the Formula1-TT. This record was broken in 2004 by John McGuinnes (also riding a Yam-R1) with an average speed of 205,31 km/h. He did the 61km in 17m43,8sec!
